Beet Aldome شاليهات بيت الدوم
Private pool and outdoor lounge at Beet Aldome, a short walk from Salman Bay beach

Chalets near Salman Bay beach

Sea in the afternoon, your own pool after.

Salman Bay beach is a 6–8 minute walk from our gate. We are not on the sand and you will not see the sea from the chalet, but you will be back in your own pool before the salt dries.

The honest distance

Six to eight minutes on foot. Close enough to walk in your sandals, far enough that the beach crowd never reaches your pool.

We timed the walk ourselves, gate to sand. We are not a beachfront chalet and none of our units has a sea view; what you get is a private pool to rinse off in after the sea, behind a wall nobody looks over.

The beach

A public beach at the quiet end of the coast.

Salman Bay is a public beach at the northern edge of Jeddah, in Dhahban. Guests describe calm water and, on weekday afternoons, long stretches of sand with hardly anyone on it.

The afternoon sun is strong, so most guests go after 4 PM check-in, stay for the sunset and walk back in the last of the light. We are writing a fuller Salman Bay beach guide.

A beach night

How most guests spend it.

Not a schedule, just what we see people do with a night here.

  1. 4 PM

    Check in

Drop the bags, turn on the A/C, look at the pool and promise to come back to it.

  2. 5 PM

    Walk to the sea

Six to eight minutes on foot. Take water, towels and something to sit on.

  3. 6 PM

    Sunset on the sand

The sun goes down over the water. This is the hour the walk is for.

  4. 7 PM

    Back to your pool

Rinse off and swim in water nobody else has touched today.

  5. Morning

    One more swim

Sea or pool, your choice. Check-out is at 12 noon.

After the beach

Four pools to walk back to.

Pick by the size of your group. Every one is walled, gated and yours alone for the night.

Before you walk

Small things that make the beach easier.

  1. 01

    Bring shade

Salman Bay is an open public beach, and we cannot promise what is set up on the sand on a given day. An umbrella or a pop-up tent makes the afternoon.

  2. 02

    Shower before the pool

Rinse off sand and salt first. Tanning oil stays out of the pool, please; it clouds the water for the next guest.

  3. 03

    Walk back quietly

The streets around us are residential. Keep voices and car music down on the way home after dark.

  4. 04

    Mind the gate

Close your gate when you leave. The pool is private only while the wall is closed.

Questions

About the beach.

Still unsure about something? Ask us on WhatsApp. A real person answers.

All questions, answered

  • A 6–8 minute walk. We timed it from our gate to the sand.

  • No. We are a short walk inland, so there is no sea view from any unit. Each one has its own walled pool instead.

  • It is a public beach. Bring your own shade, water and seating rather than counting on anything being there.

  • The beach is public, so yes, but the chalet and its pool are yours until 12 noon only. Check which nights are free.
